My eyes searched frantically for something familiar
They found nowhere to rest.
My gaze was stolen by the man and His throne
Captivated by His presence my spirit lifted him higher
And he ascended in my praise.
The winged beasts circled Him ominously,
Covering their eyes in fear of His beauty
They spoke nothing but I could hear their cries
They called him holy, perfectly holy,
And my heart screamed in agreement
His glory overflowed my heart and I was afraid.
The muscles in my legs pinged with adrenaline
Ready to give out from shock
I said it, no I shouted it, from the depths of my
Visceral being it came- “Woe is me! I am a man
Of unclean lips...for my eyes have seen the King,
The Lord of Hosts.” The room shifted at my feet
They must have heard me. The world must have
Heard me shout. One of the stunning creatures
Majestically swooped up a fiery stone and pressed
It hard to my lips. The freeing agony I felt
Electrified my stony heart, and I leapt.
I heard his whisper, “Behold, this has touched
Your lips, your guilt is taken away, and your sin
Atoned for.” It was gone. The winged beasts
Disappeared and all I saw was my roof.
It was real.

hmmm...i like this. but it "pinged" even a word? i think you're just making up stuff.
That's correct. Isn't that what writing is? Making stuff up? I thought that's what you and Amanda taught me.
No...you are remembering it wrong.
Dang it...I really Schruted that one.

I know - I looked up the definition before I posted my comment. I guess I just didn't understand it in that context. But fair enough - you have your poetic license to do with what you like. You did a nice job....I was just giving you a hard time. Haha.
I had assumed I was being given a hard time. But thank you...I'm glad it withstands the test of true writers. If I ever have the approval of yourself or Amanda I'm filled with evil pride.
